Lynda Barry and the Neuroscience of Comics

Right now I am working on a talk that I will be giving at Harvard University on March 6 at 7pm. The talk is on Maus and the neuroscience of comics. In thinking through why artists (and scholars!) are drawn to the intersection of brain science and art, I came across this very interesting approach by artist and author Lynda Barry. Barry has been exploring the question what an image is for a long time--her class is related to this exploration, and taps into the hidden talents of students who do not consider themselves artists. I would love to take her class...

Also, for something a bit different, here is a nifty comic about the brain and its functions by neuroscientists!
